Lions Hearing Center: Hearing Aid Assistance

The Lions Hearing Center of Michigan is a non profit organization whose mission is to serve the hearing needs of the community and the medically underserved. We provide hearing care services, including hearing aids, to anyone, regardless of the ability to pay. The Lions Hearing Center (LHC) is a partnership with Wayne State University and Lions Clubs in the metropolitan Detroit area.



For those children, adults and seniors that require a hearing aid, and income is within 200% of federal poverty guidelines, the Lions Hearing Center of Michigan provides free hearing aids to these individuals, based on available funding. Applicants are referred to a local Lions Club where they receive the application and “sponsorship” from the respective Lions Club. Applications are reviewed and approved by LHC, and the applicant is fitted with a custom hearing aid, that comes with a two-year warranty. LHC provides this program statewide through 17 locations across Michigan. When an application is received outside of the tri-county area, the patient is referred to the closest Hearing Center branch for testing and hearing aid fitting. The LHC then provides hearing aids to the individual, disbursed through the participating branch location.
